About the Role

InStride Health is seeking a Director of Training to develop, implement, and oversee our comprehensive care team training programs that align with our organizational goals and objectives. As the Director of Training, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing comprehensive training programs aimed at equipping our providers with the knowledge and skills necessary to deliver high-quality care to our patients. The Director of Training will report to the Chief Clinical Officer and will lead a team of training professionals and collaborate with department heads and will leverage their expertise to enhance therapist, psychiatrist, and coach performance, improve skills, and drive organizational success.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop training programs tailored to the specific needs of providers working with children, teens, and young adults with moderate to severe anxiety and OCD.
  • Develop and execute a strategic care team training plan that supports the organization’s objectives and business needs.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership across our care team disciplines (Therapy, Psychiatry, and Coaching) and subject matter experts to identify care team training needs, content priorities, and learning objectives.
  • Collaborate with clinical leadership to ensure that training curriculum aligns with evidence-based practices and emerging trends in pediatric mental health treatment.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including clinical leadership, research and development, and operations, to ensure alignment of training initiatives with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Partner with the VP of People to understand training needs across the company and surface opportunities for shared trainings, learnings, tools, and resources.  
  • Lead the design, development, and delivery of engaging and effective training programs, including recorded and live trainings, manuals, videos, and online modules, to support the learning objectives of the training programs.
  • Lead training sessions for our care team, utilizing effective facilitation techniques to enhance learning and retention of information.
  • Develop assessment strategies and key performance indicators to evaluate the effectiveness of care team training programs and identify areas for improvement. Gather feedback from participants to continuously enhance the training experience and improve clinical outcomes.
  • Partner with clinical and operational leadership to help implement quality assurance measures in the training content to ensure that providers are adhering to best practices and delivering culturally competent care.
  • Manage and develop the training team, providing guidance, mentorship, and performance feedback.
  • Stay current with industry trends, best practices, and innovations in provider training and development methodologies, and integrate them into our programs.
  • Manage care team training resources and vendor relationships effectively to optimize ROI and ensure cost-efficient operations.

What You Need to Succeed in the Role

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Organizational Development, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Proven experience (5+ years) in training and development roles, with at least 3 years in a leadership or managerial capacity. The ideal candidate has experience developing and delivering training programs in a mental health or care delivery setting. 
  • Proficiency in learning management systems (LMS) and other training technologies.
  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles, instructional design methodologies, and training delivery techniques.
  • Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing an effective training function, across diverse formats and modalities, from end to end. 
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams and stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple areas in an organization and handle multiple stakeholders
  • Strategic mindset with the ability to align training initiatives with business objectives and drive measurable results.
  • Experience working in a high-growth, entrepreneurial environment, ideally in a care delivery model
