About the Role

This role is a rare chance to help shape the product roadmap for one of the fastest growing startups in the healthcare industry. As a Director of Product at Charlie Health, you will manage members of the product team and end-user research functions. You will be responsible for collaborating cross-functionally with every team across the organization, identifying and executing on opportunities to leverage product solutions to optimize our care delivery/client experience and processes, enable more efficient scaling of our clinical operations, and support our commitment to driving better clinical outcomes.

The Product org will be responsible for building scalable solutions that deliver value to our end users including patients, families, clinicians, and internal admin; these solutions are fundamental to our mission of reducing youth suicide. You will own the progression of the product roadmap, help to develop frameworks to prioritize and measure ROI for each item on the roadmap and manage a team toward shipping features on time. You will have the opportunity to be a key stakeholder in the evolution and execution of the Charlie Health tech platform that will support the entire organization and patient journey, from admission through discharge.

  • Help lead development of product roadmap and frameworks to prioritize and measure ROI for each item on the roadmap, and allocate resources based on priority of features on roadmap
  • Partner with Chief Clinical Officer to identify new product solutions to improve patient and clinician experience and drive clinical outcomes (e.g., user portals, AI/ML for patient / clinician matching)
  • Collaborate with Clinical Operations teams to define, design, and launch new tools and features that deliver value to our end users (patients, families, clinicians, internal admin, etc.)
  • Work closely with co-founders/CFO on company-wide headcount planning and budgeting by identifying opportunities for Product to deliver efficiencies in operating model (e.g., automate manual processes)
  • Partner with leaders on the Engineering team to identify opportunities to aggressively increase product development velocity
  • Work with your team to constantly conduct client and clinician user research and collect feedback to identify key pain points and improve product
  • Help define Charlie Health’s long term strategy and annual goals based on user research conducted
  • Define the right metrics to inform prioritization of the product roadmap and to measure success and outcomes of the product and features you ship
  • Develop product milestones, lead sprints and write technical product requirement documents
  • Support teams across the org on buy, build, and partner analyses by developing technical requirements / business case and evaluating trade offs for each option
  • Evaluate third party software and point solutions to determine whether solution meets requirements of the business and will integrate with broader Charlie Health tech stack


  • NYC-based, work from office 4 days per week and located within 75 minutes’ commuting distance of the office
  • 10+ years of experience in Eng. or Product roles 
  • 3+ years of experience managing PMs at a venture-backed or public company in one of the following sectors: digital marketplaces/aggregators, SaaS, digital health, fintech, and/or operationally oriented product environments
  • Experience with upholding high talent bar for recruiting, building, and retaining high functioning PM teams by investing in learning and development of team members
  • A learning mindset
  • Bias toward shipping product while maintaining high standards for quality of products being shipped
  • Experience aligning business objectives with prioritization of product strategy and process (e.g., building product to improve patient NPS or identifying opportunities to reduce operating costs by introducing product to automate and/or reduce time to complete workflows)
  • Track record of delivering new product innovation (rather than incremental improvements / focused on maintenance)
  • Leader of high integrity, intellect, and character who can manage an exceptional team capable of understanding the needs of Charlie Health’s users to enable better business outcomes 
  • Bachelor’s degree

Additional Information

The expected pay for this role will be between $176,000 and $275,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and years of experience. Further, pay is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits. #LI-HYBRID
