Retention Marketing Associate

Ten Thousand is looking for a Retention Marketing Associate to join our Marketing team. You will focus on developing and scaling Ten Thousand’s efforts mainly in email, SMS, and loyalty and be in charge of executing day-to-day marketing campaigns from briefing to deploying to reporting. 


  • Manage Ten Thousand Lifecycle marketing channels
  • Assist in defining a best-in-class lifecycle marketing program and executing programs including advanced automations, behavior-based triggers and workflows, segmentation and personalization for both marketing and transactional campaigns
  • Lead and manage the end-to-end delivery of Lifecycle marketing campaigns, from building briefs for the creative team, reviewing deliverables, QA, requesting approvals, and deployment
  • Manage lead generation and capture programs, subscriber growth and retention, and advanced segmentation based on past behavior and traits.
  • Experience with SMS, Direct Mail, Referral and Loyalty programs
  • Develop and execute A/B testing roadmap to optimize campaigns towards program goals of driving revenue, customer satisfaction, increasing community engagement, and driving repeat purchase behavior
  • Email & SMS channel performance reporting, conducting analyses, identify opportunities, and make recommendations to continually improve performance and advance towards program goals
  • Monitor campaign deliverability, IP health, and subscriber data hygiene
  • Work closely with our in-house Creative team to maintain a healthy cycle of design performance feedback and iterative improvement
  • Create and communicate content (assets, copy, etc.) requirements to the Creative team for various scopes via a briefing process, and then coordinate handover and organization
  • Collaborate with our Development team to continuously improve integrations and the flow of information within our marketing technology stack (ESP, CDP, E-commerce platform, Internal applications).


  • 1-2 years ideally as part of an Email Marketing program for a retail or e-commerce business
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Knowledge of Google Analytics
  • Experience working with a major ESP and CRM tools
  • BS/BA or comparable work experience

Bonus Points

  • Some knowledge of and experience developing HTML/CSS
  • Knowledge and experience with our tech stack: Klaviyo, Shopify, Attentive, Yotpo, and Google Analytics
