About the Role

We are looking for a Senior People Operations Specialist to join our growing People team! As our Senior People Operations Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting the Charlie Health team as we scale. This is an opportunity to learn and grow within the People Operations function in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.

The Senior People Operations Specialist will report to and partner closely with the People Operations Manager.


  • Provide support to Charlie Health employees by responding to incoming emails/calls/requests and answering questions, providing solutions, and/or escalating requests to more senior team members when necessary 
  • Maintenance of up-to-date, compliant employee records in HRIS systems
  • Support in configuring and managing all state, local, and federal tax registrations
  • Support with the administration of Charlie Health’s suite of health, welfare, and 401(k) benefits
  • Own and refine employee lifecycle processes such as onboarding and offboarding of employees
  • Conduct regular audits of company payroll and benefits systems
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly and annual state, local, and federal filings
  • Support new hire onboarding experience, ongoing performance review programs, and employee experience initiatives
  • Support Charlie Health’s leave management process by responding to employee leave requests and initiating paperwork
  • Create and maintain internal process documentation for the People Operations team
  • Manage the People Operations Knowledge Library in Confluence
  • Other related duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • At least 2-3+ years of experience in a similar role in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Interest in growing a career in the People Operations/Human Resources field
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail 
  • Please note that this position is located in New York, NY and is expected to adhere to a 4-day in-office hybrid work schedule. Candidates must be located within 75 minutes’ commuting distance of the NYC office.

Additional Information

The total target cash compensation for this role will be between $70,000 and $90,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, pay will be determined on an individualized basis and will be impacted by location and number of years of experience. Further, cash compensation is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may include stock options and other Charlie Health-sponsored benefits. #LI-HYBRID
