JOB SUMMARY: BODYBAR Pilates is a rapidly growing boutique fitness franchise concept headquartered in Fort Worth, Texas. We are searching for a Chief Operating Officer (COO) who has strong leadership skills and the ability to approach BODYBAR’s growth from a strategic and creative point of view. The COO will report to the President and will lead our Operations team which includes; Franchisee Training & Onboarding, Studio Performance, and Marketing. The ideal candidate has extensive experience and proven success within the boutique fitness industry at the executive level, preferably in the Pilates sphere. With a high proficiency in industry best practices, trends and the boutique fitness market, the COO will be poised to lead the HQ team to be effective high performers.

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Business Strategy

  • Work with the stakeholders to set and drive the organizational vision and mission, objectives, strategy, and hiring needs
  • Provide timely, accurate and complete reports to the Board on the operating condition of the system
  • Measure and analyze current system revenue streams, and vendor relationships to optimize franchise growth, revenue, and ROI for shareholders
  • Asses and implement improved processes and new technologies, and collaborating with relevant departments
  • Build and maintain relationships with other professionals and organizations in the boutique fitness and franchising industry
  • Work with the CEO and necessary stakeholders to compile the annual operating budget then evaluate costs to plan
  • Translate strategy into actionable steps for growth, implementing organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operations planning
  • Manage capital investments and expenses aggressively to ensure that the company achieves investor targets for growth and profitability
  • Perform other related duties to benefit the mission of the organization.

Managerial

  • Foster a success-oriented, accountable, and supportive work environment so that team members thrive
  • Strategically manage and organize employees and departments to ensure efficiency
  • Monitor system and team performance by implementing and analyzing various KPIs then empowering department heads to make needed changes
  • Oversee marketing initiatives and ensure synergy with the BODYBAR brand, member base and growth strategies
  • Work with Human Resources to implement initiatives and incentives to optimize team performance
  • Complete timely employee performance reviews and coaching for direct reports.
  • Approve employee bonuses, incentive plans, and salary increases in accordance with pay policies and individual employee contracts
  • Develop and implement succession plans for all subordinate roles

Compliance

  • Ensure the company’s compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, and standards.
  • Assist in annual financial audit process and the preparation of the FDD
  • Ensure Franchisees are operating in compliance with their Franchise and/or Area Development Agreement(s) as they may be party to and take appropriate action when necessary

EDUCATION SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field, Master’s Preferred
  • 10 or more years of senior management experience in the boutique fitness industry
  • 5 or more years of experience in executive leadership roles for a franchise
  • In-depth understanding of the industry including risk management and compliance
  • Thorough understanding of budgeting, P&L statements, cash flow, and capital management
  • Excellent leadership and people management skills
  • Solid grasp of data analytics and performance metrics
  • Ability to motivate, organize, and respond to employees of many different areas of expertise
  • Ability to adapt to quickly changing environments and forecast opportunities
  • Strong negotiator and proven strategic thinker
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work as an independent contributor and as part of a team
  • Proven track record of outstanding performance in a previous complex enterprise
