About the role:

Serve as the interim Senior Retail Marketing lead, owning retail marketing strategy and execution across Food, Mass, and Club retailers while ensuring continuity of key campaigns, retailer initiatives, and cross-functional workflows during maternity leave coverage. 

Functions and duties of this role include, but not limited to:

Retail Strategy & Channel Leadership 

  • Serve as the retail marketing point of contact for Sales, Operations, Brand, and Creative across all channels. 
  • Own retail strategy development for Tier 1 campaigns and key retailer initiatives. 
  • Lead retail strategy by channel, with a primary focus on Club, Food, and Mass. 
  • Translate brand positioning into clear, shopper-relevant messaging that drives conversion at shelf and in-store. 
  • Balance brand consistency with retailer- and channel-specific customization required to win at each retailer. 

 

Retailer-Specific Program Development & Execution 

  • Oversee the creation and execution of retailer-customized programs across campaign and evergreen initiatives, including:  
  • Off-shelf secondary displays 
  • Home shelf updates and enhanced marketing  
  • POS Signage 
  • DOOH 
  • In-store Promotions/offers and coupons 
  • In-store sampling 
  • Merchandising 
  • Retail execution strategy  
  • Agency management 
  • Navigate retailer-specific requirements, constraints, and approval processes to optimize off-shelf and in-store opportunities. 
  • Partner closely with Sales, Brand, Creative, and Operations to deliver cohesive, scalable in-store and around-the-store shopper programs. 

 

Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Management 

  • Influence cross-functional partners to align teams around shared goals, timelines, and priorities for campaigns and retailer initiatives. 
  • Present retail strategies, performance updates, and recommendations to senior stakeholders. 
  • Serve as the primary retail marketing liaison to the Sales team, ensuring strong alignment between strategy and execution. 

 

Agency & Vendor Management 

  • Lead Greenhouse Agency (retail execution) program management. 
  • Coordinate Greenhouse strategy and execution in partnership with the Sales team. 
  • Ensure agency work delivers against brand standards, retailer requirements, timelines, and budget. 

 

Performance, Optimization & Measurement 

  • Lead BMI reviews and performance discussions. 
  • Analyze performance by channel, initiative, and retailer to inform optimization, investment shifts, and future planning. 
  • Apply test-and-learn insights to continuously improve retail marketing effectiveness. 
  • Establish and maintain best practices, processes, and frameworks that elevate retail marketing capability across the organization. 

 

Budget & Operational Management 

  • Own retail marketing budget management, including tracking and alignment to priorities. 
  • Work closely with the Retail Marketing Manager to ensure all inputs are accurately reflected in planning templates and trackers. 
  • Ensure retail marketing plans are operationally feasible and execution-ready. 

 
Qualifications:

  • 5–7 years of experience in retail marketing, ideally within the Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry
  • Proven experience executing retail marketing programs across key channels (e.g., in‑store, omnichannel, retail media, and shopper activations)
  • Strong understanding of retailer dynamics, including merchandising, promotions, and shopper behavior
  • Experience partnering cross‑functionally with Sales, Brand, and Shopper/Trade Marketing teams to drive execution and results
  • Demonstrated ability to translate brand strategy into retailer‑specific programs that drive conversion and growth
  • Strong analytical mindset with experience using retail and syndicated data to inform decisions and measure performance
  • Excellent project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills with experience influencing internal stakeholders and retail partners
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field (preferred)

Work Environment:

  • This role is HYBRID office environment (El Segundo). 1x a week in office. 
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.

The compensation band for this position is $62 – $90 per hour. The exact hourly is determined by various factors including experience, skills, education, geographic location, internal company equity, and budget. The listed range is applicable only to the annual base salary and does not include additional perks, benefits, or applicable bonus eligibility comprising the total compensation package.
