About the Role
PushPress is seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to grow and lead our engineering team responsible for PushPress Core, our member management and billing platform used by over 4,000 gyms daily. As a hands-on technical leader, you will play a crucial role in driving innovation, fostering collaboration, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality software that empowers gym owners and members worldwide. We are looking for a leader with a strong execution mindset, who can provide coaching and technical guidance to our engineers, collaborate effectively with product and business, and contribute to the success of the core platform.
What You’ll Do
  • Lead the core engineering team to deliver and maintain our flagship product.
  • Actively contribute to the codebase and serve as a strong technical lead.
  • Coach and mentor engineers to help them grow and reach their full potential.
  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence and cultivate best practices.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Drive the recruitment and hiring process to build a diverse and talented team.
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance team productivity and code quality.
What You Need
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience as an Engineering Manager with a proven track record of leading and growing high-performing teams.
  • At least 6 years of overall software engineering experience in full-stack development with proficiency in JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, Express, React, and Next.js.
  • Hands-on coding experience and the ability to dive deep into technical discussions and provide guidance to engineers.
  • A strong sense of ownership in leading projects from concept to launch
  • Experience working in an early-stage startup environment with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic setting.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong cross-functional relationships with product and business.
