The Director of Instructor Talent reports to the Senior Director, Instructor Talent. The role of the Director of Instructor Talent works to support and drive Talent initiatives by: enforcing accountability and position expectations, ensuring consistency, effective communication, and direct and actionable feedback is provided in a timely manner.

Team Leadership

  • Ability to inspire, grow, and motivate more than 100 creative, ambitious, and driven instructors.

  • Familiarity with managing budgets and proven ability to meet them.
  • Ability to form POV on innovation and change for the curriculum team based on feedback coming from the field.

Strategic Responsibilities

  • Partner with People & Culture, Strategy, Operations, and Curriculum teams on performance management of talent related to current business results, and future goals by studio and region.
  • Monitor diversity, equity, and inclusion at every level throughout the talent organization, and implement initiatives to ensure the talent organization is fully representative of the community we serve, across regions.
  • Be vocal in suggestions around individual team members based on qualitative and quantitative metrics observed.

Operational Responsibilities 

  • Serve as the direct manager for all instructors in specific regions, including management of performance, career development, goals, schedule, and compensation.
  • Manage performance, career development, and compensation structure for the instructor population that is transparent and equitable.
  • Provide feedback around compensation planning, including compensation bands and thresholds by region and level. 
  • Partner with other departments in management of individual brand development, partnerships, and out of Red Room opportunities.
  • Partner with Curriculum Recruitment team on the recruitment and ongoing development of instructor talent, ensuring a deep bench as well as current talent pool.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of people management experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in Talent Management and Relations, ideally within a high-growth business and geographically dispersed talent.
  • Experience working in a dynamic, ever-changing business with a strong consumer and/or hospitality focus; experience in entertainment, creative, and/or sports industry is preferred.
  • Ability to connect with people and proven ability to manage talent.
  • Personal passion for fitness and/or the Barry’s brand.

Our fitness classes alternate between working out with weights and running on a treadmill. Each day focuses on a different muscle group in order to achieve real results and to prevent injuries. Our program is designed to tone muscle and maximize fat loss, while spiking the metabolism for up to 48 hours following the class.

The annual salary for this position is between $100,000-$110,000, depending on experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Additional compensation is offered through the the Company’s quarterly incentive plan.
