The Task At-Hand:
The Senior Accountant reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager and oversees month-end close processes, financial reporting, and revenue management. This position will play an important role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial operations, while providing valuable insights that will support business growth and decision-making. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners, the accountant maintains consistent practices, conducts regular audits, and ensures compliance with financial policies.
Who You Are:
You bring 3-5 years of accounting experience with exceptional attention to detail and a proactive approach to your work. You possess a comprehensive expertise in month-end close processes, financial reporting, and revenue management, demonstrated through a proven track record of managing complex reconciliations and delivering insightful financial analysis. The successful candidate combines strong analytical capabilities with meticulous accuracy, driving efficiency throughout all accounting functions while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
In This Role You Will:
● Support month-end close processes under the direction of the Senior Accounting Manager by preparing and assisting with monthly reconciliations and reports according to established timelines.
● Take ownership of reconciling and answering questions related to: Cash transactions, Corporate credit card (Divvy), Revenue streams (Retail, Merchandise via Shopify, and Wholesale), and Accounts Receivable
● Prepare reports and analyses to drive business improvements, focusing on budgets and trend identification to provide real-time visibility for budget owners, enabling proactive decision-making and identification of cost concerns
● Manage budget-to-actuals comparisons for retail and marketing to ensure alignment with financial objectives
● Analyze and report on Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) for Accounts Receivable to optimize cash flow and working capital
● Manage all revenue collection processes across three key streams at the direction of the Senior Accounting Manager: Retail, Direct to Consumer (DTC) and Wholesale
● Ensure timely and accurate booking of retail and direct-to-consumer (DTC) revenue.
● Support the management and reconciliation of accounts receivable, ensuring timely collection and accuracy of records.
● Serve as the primary contact for all credit card transaction issues, including receipt management, back-end budget allocation, and other related inquiries
● Oversee and adjust monthly Divvy credit card limits based on the company’s yearly budget as needed
● Serve as the primary point of contact for Retail and Marketing budget team inquiries, overseeing both budgets, reviewing marketing spend by brand, and supporting overall marketing budget management
● Review and analyze cost of goods sold (COGS) for merchandise and retail operations, as well as monitor sample spend
● Collaborate with internal and external auditors during the annual audit cycle, providing necessary documentation and support to ensure smooth audit processes
Must Haves
● Must be 21 years of age or older at the time of application.
● Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field OR equivalent relevant professional experience
● 3-5 years of accounting experience, with expertise in month-end close, financial reporting, and revenue recognition
● Strong understanding of accounting principles and best practices
● Demonstrated ability to gather financial data and build comprehensive reports that facilitate clear decision-making
● Experience with financial modeling and month-end close processes, including the ability to collect supporting documentation and present complex financial information in an accessible format for non-finance stakeholders
● Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
● Experience with ERP systems and corporate credit card management (preferred)
● CPA or other relevant professional certifications (preferred but not required)
Compensation:
Full-Time, Salaried ($78,000.00 – $88,000.00), Exempt. Compensation within this range is based on experience, qualifications, and demonstrated skills
